HP Chromebook 11 Review

Are you ready to live in the cloud? If you are, maybe the new HP Chromebook 11 is the right choice for you. This new Chromebook by HP might not be the most powerful computer on the market, but it sure is light (just over two pounds) and cheap, costing $279 in major retail stores.

This makes it a great laptop for students. The state of Virginia in the US bought 32,000 Chromebooks to be used in their schools. This handy laptop carries inside Google’s own operating system, Chrome OS. A system that was thought to run on the cloud. When you buy this chromebook you get 100GB of free space in your Google Drive.

Why is this important you ask?

Because the machine itself only has 16GB of storage. Google claims that having your data in the cloud is safer, always backed up, and that nowadays it is very hard to find yourself in a situation where the internet is not available. For those rare times you are offline the computer has it’s 16GB to help you out.

It’s a small screen, perfect to fit in your bag or handbag. The processor is not impressive. Here they are using the same kind of processors they use for mobile devices. But don’t worry about this, Chrome OS runs really smooth in this laptop.
Good software makes any piece of hardware shine, and the way machine and OS work together in this case is very satisfying. Maybe HP could have worked a bit more for battery life. When thinking of a light laptop that is going to follow you around all the time battery should last at least a full day of work.
